Future Raider!

Ellyanna got a taste of high school a couple of weeks ago when Nate and I both attempted to go in to work one Saturday morning. She did quite well actually, I think she likes school already. She may as well get comfortable there, it's likely she will spend a lot of time at Lindsay Thurber!

Sr. Boys Volleyball 2010

This past weekend our school hosted the 4A Provincial Championship Volleyball Tournament. It was a bitter sweet end to the season. These boys hold a special place in my heart in that they are the last boys I coached, since switching to girls. They were a great team in grade 9 and a fantastic team in gr. 12 even though I wasn't their coach. The boys fninished 7th in the province on the weekend and played with Raider Pride. I will be sad to see these boys graduate. I am so lucky to have coached so many great young people. Maybe some day I will get to switch back to boys! (So much less drama!) The small group of boys was the core group of grade 9's minus 1 who some how missed the picture but he is in the large group shot, number 4. Once again great job Raiders!

Raiders Grade 9 Girls 2010

These are the girls I have been spending most of my time with these past three months. They are a great bunch, super nice and fantastic athletes. We finished 2nd at City Finals and 3rd in the Central Alberta Championship.

Trick or Treat?!

So our camera ran out of battery before the trick or treating started the other night so here a couple of pictures I caught on my phone. These will have to tie you over until I get a few pics from the family to post!

Our little butterfly waiting patiently for Mom to take her around the block!

Elly was so excited that night. Every house we went to she stepped just inside the door and waited for someone to hand her a "treat". She would then put it in the bag and wave goodbye. Some houses she found more interesting that others, I think she wanted to move in with June down the street and of course she had a big visit at both Grandma and Grandpa's houses.

So excited to have received a deck of playing cards from one of the neighbors. Ellyanna didn't get many treats as she was collecting for the food bank. She raised $60 and a big bag of food for the Red Deer food bank.

I know you have all been waiting patiently to see some pictures of the twins and now that I successfully stole some of my parents (our camera had a melt down), we can finally show them off! So, it is with great pleasure, I introduce to you our new niece and nephew.

A day at the new Dawe Pool

Matching Mom and Babe

Without realizing it, one day I dressed myself up like Ellyanna. Nate caught it on camera as we imitated each other playing on the floor.

Too funny not to post.

Ok we all know how much Nate loves Corona right? Well it looks as though Ellyanna does too! We are not promoting under age drinking at all but look how excited she got with the bottle in front of her, too funny!

We are going to have to keep an eye one this one when she gets older!

Ellyanna turns 1

So I was hoping to get some pictures from others before I blogged about Ellyanna's birthday as we only have a couple and they aren't great but.... here we are the 1st of October and still no pics. So here are the ones we do have.

We had a great afternoon out in the back yard and at the park behind our house. All but three of Ellyanna's cousins were able to make it down for her big day! She was very excited to see everyone.

Silas was loving the slide that day.

Grace was practicing her big sister skills pushing Ellyanna.

Jonah and Oliver were sand slinging swingers that day!

I made my first attempt at doing something beyond just icing for Elly's cupcakes. I wanted it to be something that she would recognize so Elmo it was. But not because she watches Sesame Street, only because she has the doll. She just isn't into TV yet, and we aren't pushing it. It's only so long before she will control the remote!

Ellyanna did a pretty good job eating Elmo, it was her first time having cake and she seemed to like it.

Thanks to all who were able to make it down for the afternoon, it was great to get you all together in one place.
